Who we are
Hampshire Youth Access (HYA) is a partnership of 11 leading services in the field of Youth Information, Advice and Counselling that have been working together for 12 years.
HYA seeks to share best practice between its partner agencies in order to ensure consistent levels of support for children and young people across Hampshire, Portsmouth and Southampton.
Alabare offer information, advice and guidance to young people aged 13-25 in the Test Valley area. They aim to promote independence and help young people make appropriate life choices.
Services and activities include counselling, internet access, support in developing independent living skills, training and volunteering opportunities and support around emotional and physical health and wellbeing.
Eastleigh Youth Counselling is a service offering free and confidential counselling to young people aged 11-19 from the Eastleigh area. It can provide support around anything upsetting or worrying a young person. Its sister service TADIC also offers drop in sessions around emotional and physical health and wellbeing.
Hart Voluntary Action is a service supporting the voluntary and not for profit sector in the Hart area. One of its services, 121 Youth Counselling, provides counselling for young people aged 11-25. 121 currently has venues in Fleet, Hartley Wintney, Hook, Odiham and Yateley.
The Moving On Project is a charity offering free and confidential support in Fareham and Gosport, to young people aged 11-25. It aims to help them to improve their own lives.
Its services include confidential, discreet support, including free counselling.
Motiv8 is a charity that has been operating in the Portsmouth, Havant, Gosport and Fareham area for the past 20 years. They recognise that there are many factors which can place young people and their families at increased risk of becoming involved in anti-social behaviour, crime or becoming a victim of crime. We take a person-centred approach, building on strengths and providing positive ‘life chances’ to help them thrive.
No Limits is an award winning charity offering free and confidential support to over 5000 children and young people annually. No Limits supports 11-25 year olds who live in Southampton and Hampshire. It seeks to help young people help themselves.
Services include: an Advice Centre in central Southampton; counselling; advice on housing, benefits and debt; DASH alcohol and drugs service; sexual health and relationships services; homelessness services; employment-seeking support; support for young parents; washing facilities; access to food in a crisis; family support.
Off The Record is a free and confidential service offering counselling, support and information to young people aged 11-25 who live in Portsmouth, Havant and the surrounding areas. It offers young people an opportunity to talk over anything that is troubling them, with someone who will not judge them or their situation and who will really listen.
It aims to help young people make their own positive changes by empowering them with the skills and confidence to enable them to make healthy, safe and life–enhancing choices.
Step by Step is a charity who passionately believe in supporting young people who are going through hard times. Their unique step by step approach provides accommodation, personal development opportunities, and specialist support services to identify and fulfil aspirations. They offer free counselling support to young people aged 11-25 across North Hampshire and South West Surrey.
Winchester Youth Counselling provides free counselling and therapeutic support to young people aged 11-25 who live in the district of Winchester. It also provides free counselling in Amery Hill school in Alton and Mill Chase Academy in Bordon, and a service called De-stress, Relax and Chill and Walk and Talk Therapy.
Youth in Romsey offers confidential advice and support to young people aged between 6 – 25 in Romsey, South West Hampshire and the New Forest on a range of issues including emotional and mental health, employment, drug and alcohol abuse, sexual health and housing.
YPI Counselling is a registered charity offering free confidential counselling to young people between the ages of 11-25 in the Basingstoke and Deane area. It provides over 1,700 counselling hours to young people per year on a range of issues including difficulties at home, work or school, relationships, sexuality, identity and self-esteem.
